OUR STORY

Faith Welland recently celebrated our 75th anniversary (2024). In 1949, a group of like-minded believers recognized the need for a Pentecostal presence in Welland. Rev. Michael Horban led the group in a rented hall in Welland and there was substantial growth when Rev. Harold House took over the ministry in 1953. In 1967 a permanent presence was established at our current location. The original church building seated 125 – 150, and now after two more building projects is the current cafe. The next addition in 1973 seating approximately 400 is currently the upper fellowship hall used for the majority of child and youth programs and special events. By 1988, the church had outgrown this hall and the current sanctuary was finished in 1990. Since 1993, our key leaders have been Rev. Peter Cuke and Rev. Jamie Shepherd. Rooted throughout our history is strong community outreach through programs such as Crusaders, Bus ministry, and programs at community houses in cooperation with the City of Welland and Niagara Regional Housing.
