The church was founded in the mid 1930’s by 2 men who came from Kilsyth Scotland to establish their families in a new country . They met in homes and then purchased a property on Spruce Street until a church was built on Blutcher Street where they remained until 1965.
In 1965 the current Elim was built which is centrally located with the city. Our church has gone through many renovations over the years. Installing a balcony and most recently we built a 3,200 sq. ft. addition which meets the Disability Access Standards with a ground level covered canopy, accessible door opener, wheelchair accessible washrooms on both levels, wheelchair lift that goes between all levels, main floor nursery, large, office complex, conference/ prayer room, library, basement fellowship area, and a large state of the art kitchen.
In 2022 we fully updated the main sanctuary with a large platform, padded pews, a professionally engineered sound system, new windows, lighting, completely carpeted sanctuary and in 2024 new flooring and carpeting in the lower fellowship area.
