JOB DESCRIPTION HIGHLIGHTS
Hope Community Church is seeking:
The primary responsibilities of the lead pastor role is to be a servant leader and to guide the church congregation in a spirit of
humility in matters of faith, providing pastoral care, and ensuring the spiritual well-being of the members.
Duties would include, but are not limited to:
* The Senior Pastor is responsible for the overall leadership of the church services. They will prepare and deliver sermons and lead The Sunday worship services.
* To provide spiritual guidance and counseling to congregation members.
* To help organize community outreach and mission programs.
* To visit the sick and homebound members of the congregation or to delegate responsibility to other staff or board members.
* To provide conflict resolution and pastoral care to its members and adherents as required.
* To officiate at weddings, funerals, and other religious ceremonies.
LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Education: Theological education at Bible College or Seminary
Credentials: Active PAOC credentials – Ordained Minister
Ministry Experience: Preferably a minimum of 5 years of Pastoral Experience
Giftings: Pastoral Care, Servant Heart

Our Story
Hope Community Church has been serving the Hanover area
since 1967. From the little church on the hill to our current
location, Hope has focused on being a part of our community, not
just in it. We have seen God open doors and move mountains
during our church build. Today, we are located at 373 18th Ave
just north of John Diefenbaker Senior School (JDSS).

Currently we have an Interim Lead Pastor and the Board are
fulfilling any additional roles such as administration on an interim basis.
Demographics
Hope Community Church has a good mix of older and younger members, men, women, youth and children.
Size Approx. 60 members and a total of around 125 members and
adherents.
Hanover has a population of approximately 8000 people
Industry
Hanover, Ontario, has a diverse range of employers, including
those in light manufacturing, food processing, and the service
sector. Key sectors include manufacturing, with companies like
Exceldor (a food processor) and potential opportunities in the
manufacturing of building materials and equipment. Hanover
and surrounding area has many other opportunities in healthcare,
automotive and power generation (Bruce Power).
Schools
Hanover has a Catholic Elementary School and 2 public
Elementary Schools (one of which French Immersion) as well as
having a high school. The partnering community (Walkerton) has
a large Catholic High School.
Distance from Major Centres
The closest major centers to Hanover, ON, are Kitchener-Waterloo
and Barrie. The distance to Kitchener-Waterloo is approximately
120 km, Barrie is 126km. Owen Sound, which has a population of
approx. 25,000 is 60 km away.
