OUR STORY

In 1925 Essex Gospel Tabernacle became affiliated with the PAOC. A building at the corner of Center and Alice Street in Essex was purchased for Sunday services and local ministry. With continued growth, land was purchased in 1950 on Talbot St and a new church was constructed. In 1978 a permanent site was secured and a building erected at the current location. In early 2000 with a renewed inspiration of passion for God along with a significant season of ministry and growth, the first Children and Youth Pastor were hired. The name of the church changed from Tabernacle to Community Church following incorporation in 2013. Notwithstanding several upgrades and an extensive major renovation project recently completed, the church is mortgage free.
